I am going to use this page of my website to offer some free helpful hints. With no hidden charges or links like every other website on the planet. I'm purely here to help you, if I can.

Todays helpful hint: Can't delete a file.

Last week, a friend of mine had a minor issue, which was causing him a major problem.

Somehow, a video file he had, could not or would not delete. It was stuck in his 'files waiting to be written' on his CD/RW drive. He had also sent it to his Recycle Bin where it was also stuck and would not be permanently deleted.

The file on his CD/RW drive was preventing him from producing new CD's. The two problems had to be related.

My suggested solution:

To restart his computer in Safe Mode (F8). To go to both CD/RW drive and Recycle Bin and delete the unwanted files. Hey presto it worked. (but I knew it would !! he he).

Theres no need to explain the technical data is there.

The solution did work in this case and probably will for most files that are proving difficult to remove.

Seek professional help if you are unsure of what you are doing.
